Have Any Ideas for JAKE?

JAKE is a volunteer organization aimed to help the growth of the local music scene without the use of social media. If you have any ideas or want to get involved please send us an email and we would be happy to collaborate. We cannot do JAKE without you, the reader. Thank you for your support and let's continue to make JAKE the best newsletter it can be.

Also, have any flyers that you'd like to see on the newsletter? Send them our way and you'll be sure to see them on next week's edition!

Weekly Shoutout!

This week's random shoutout goes to Will A! Your support is appreciated and we hope your week is splendid!

Click here for this week's Playlist!

Due to the lack of a playlist last week we here at JAKE feel as if we owe you. So in this weeks special edition, we're included an extra long playlist consisting of longer songs. On top of this, these specially picked bangers are composed with no lyrics. So sit back, relax, and allow the beauty of these spiraling melodic tracks carry you away. This playlist contains some of my favorite tracks of all time and we're excited to share that with you!

Weekly Joke!!

How come the croissant couldn't keep any friends?

He was too flakey :0

Artist Spotlight!

JAKE wants to connect more with our physical artists and to start we're highlighting Carrie Potts for her amazing illustrations.

While JAKE may be focused on live music we want to support all artists of all medias.

Do you have art you want to be featured? Send it to us at Jake.slo.newsletter@gmail.com!

Animal Spotlight!

I got pricked with the love for porcupines this week! A beautiful mammal with a one of a kind defense these American mammals are cute but not quite cuddly!

Click the cutie above to learn more about the strange combination of features these animals possess!

WHY J.A.K.E.????

In an ever-evolving age of “new,” smartphones and social media dependency have been on the rise. Social media’s original intention was to connect us but has ultimately separated us further from each other. This newsletter comes to you to lessen your dependency on this isolating technology. We aim to move away from these vices and support those choosing to use the “dumb phone.” Using email rather than social media, this newsletter will supply information on events as well as updates on the music scene within SLO. Without social media, you risk missing out on real social events, but this newsletter will allow you to skip the FOMO and stay in the loop of everything going on in the central coast scene.

This newsletter will update you about shows, gigs, concerts and other events. It will also feature concert reviews, artist spotlights, weekly playlists, and more.

Animal Spotlight! X2

Last week in the midst of midterms we forgot to link the cow feature. That means this week JAKE is having a double animal feature.

Cows are some of the most beautiful creatures and this website explaining 6 fun things about them deserves your attention. So click the Image above and enjoy some silly facts and videos!
