Last Friday was a quadruple release date, and while we spotlighted two we cannot ignore The Osees and Faint.
Faint, a slow core band from LA released their second album Knots. In honor of this release Faint played LA, SF, and Santa Cruz with Punxsutawney. While I was not able to attend the whole tour, the backyard show in Santa Cruz was one of the best I've ever been to featuring Faint, Punxsutawney, and First Day Back. If you have not listened to or even heard of these groups I cannot recommend enough that you do. Each honing their own sound yet doing so effortlessly and nailing the hammer on the head of each respective genre.
Secondly, LA legends the Osees released ABOMINATION REVEALED AT LAST. This banging 12 track album gives high tempo aggressive ear stimulation. With two drummers it's hard to deny the power that the Osees possess. This new record shows that they have no intention of slowing down and will continue releasing high energy explosions. Currently playing a residency at the Teragram in LA, this band is worth seeing live if you enjoy loud, high energy, guitar driven music.
Click the album covers above to be directed to their band camps.

Racoons! cute little creatures that roam the street at night. Recently in my backyard I have noticed a group of 4 raccoons that care for each other and scavenge throughout the night. Being nocturnal these North American trash pandas feed of of human waste and have thrived in the modern age. Like pigeons, seagulls, and crows these animals have adapted to coexisting with humans and I think that's beautiful. Click above to learn what to do if raccoons enter your home or become too friendly.

In an ever-evolving age of “new,” smartphones and social media dependency have been on the rise. Social media’s original intention was to connect us but has ultimately separated us further from each other. This newsletter comes to you to lessen your dependency on this isolating technology. We aim to move away from these vices and support those choosing to use the “dumb phone.” Using email rather than social media, this newsletter will supply information on events as well as updates on the music scene within SLO. Without social media, you risk missing out on real social events, but this newsletter will allow you to skip the FOMO and stay in the loop of everything going on in the central coast scene.
This newsletter will update you about shows, gigs, concerts and other events. It will also feature concert reviews, artist spotlights, weekly playlists, and more.
