In an ever-evolving age of “new,” smartphones and social media dependency have been on the rise. Social media’s original intention was to connect us but has ultimately separated us further from each other. This newsletter comes to you to lessen your dependency on this isolating technology. We aim to move away from these vices and support those choosing to use the “dumb phone.” Using email rather than social media, this newsletter will supply information on events as well as updates on the music scene within SLO. Without social media, you risk missing out on real social events, but this newsletter will allow you to skip the FOMO and stay in the loop of everything going on in the central coast scene.
This newsletter will update you about shows, gigs, concerts and other events. It will also feature concert reviews, artist spotlights, weekly playlists, and more.

JAKE is a volunteer organization aimed to help the growth of the local music scene without the use of social media. If you have any ideas or want to get involved please send us an email and we would be happy to collaborate. We cannot do JAKE without you, the reader. Thank you for your support and let's continue to make JAKE the best newsletter it can be.
Also, have any flyers that you'd like to see on the newsletter? Send them our way and you'll be sure to see them on next week's edition!

An influx of great events to attend this weekend!
Thursday: The bunker, Libertine, and Linaeas great shows combining local talent with traveling bands.
Friday: A House show, Humdinger, and an open mic. Get out there and meet some like minded people!
Saturday: Another house show, Slodoco, and Dark Nectar. MPU madness, a conglomerate sound collage, and hardcore. It's going to be hard to decide which one to attend.
Sunday: And don't forget Ty Segall playing with a full band at SloBrew.
