In an ever-evolving age of “new,” smartphones and social media dependency have been on the rise. Social media’s original intention was to connect us but has ultimately separated us further from each other. This newsletter comes to you to lessen your dependency on this isolating technology. We aim to move away from these vices and support those choosing to use the “dumb phone.” Using email rather than social media, this newsletter will supply information on events as well as updates on the music scene within SLO. Without social media, you risk missing out on real social events, but this newsletter will allow you to skip the FOMO and stay in the loop of everything going on in the central coast scene.
This newsletter will update you about shows, gigs, concerts and other events. It will also feature concert reviews, artist spotlights, weekly playlists, and more.

With the recent Fires devastating LA, venues including Dark Nectar and Libertine are throwing shows this weekend to help support those affected.
If you are unable to make it to the shows or just want to continue to help, attached is a link for LA fire support.
Here at JAKE, we find it extremely important to not only spread the awareness of shows, but use our platform to support what we believe in.

Shoegaze has been on the rise and SLO has had some incredible Shoegaze projects as of late. This week legendary band DIIV is coming to SLO Brew for a great night of distortion, reverb, and walls of sound.
If you haven't heard of DIIV and are on the fence, here's a link to an awesome live session they did with KEXP last year.
